Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup on Fire
Dear Friends, Family & Neighbors,
We have an awesome Tomato Soup + Grilled Cheese kit on deck this week. One pint of tomato soup, plus a sandwich that's ready to grill in butter in a pan: two slices of Tuscan pane bread, Dijon mustard aioli, Comte cheese, killer cheddar from Shelburne Farms in VT, and thinly sliced ham. It's as easy as heating up soup and making grilled cheese, but like if a fancy chef made it for you. The sandwich is assembled- just unwrap, butter, season with salt (optional), and grill. Perfect for the rainy weather that's expected this weekend.
Don't miss juicy adobo-rubbed hanger steaks and/or tomahawk ribeyes, so you can go big- or bigger. Excellent protein choice to accompany this week's Escarole, Radicchio, Spiced Nut & Roquefort Dressing Kit. Date night, treat yourself night, or just, you know, dinner. Either way you'll be happy. The adobo rub we're using on the steak is a fragrant mix of mild ancho chiles, shallots, garlic, thyme, and a bit of smoked Spanish paprika. It marinates the steak and keeps it super moist during cooking. Since blue cheese and steak are such good buddies, and since you'll want a cool, crunchy salad to provide contrast to the steak, get this kit. It's wicked Autumnal.
Swordfish + Madras Curry + Caper-Raisin Viniagrette, alongside some cauliflower- see why this is considered a classic pairing. These flavors just work so well together. This succulent piece of super-fresh Swordfish is all the better for the briny and tart vinaigrette. There's just a hint of sweetness from the raisins. The curry we use, as well as the special Cabernet vinegar we use in the vinaigrette, make this pop.
If you missed it last week, don't worry- we have more excellent, local, handmade by a serious pro chocolate from Mrs. Mekler's Mercantile, right out of Cohasset.
See you soon!
