Ham, Lamb & Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie
We have two excellent hams. The smaller of the two, at around three pounds, is a heritage-breed pork known as Duroc, and these hickory-smoked boneless hams are from 6th generation heritage pork farmers in Iowa. The larger one is a spiral-sliced bone-in smoked ham from North Country, averaging eight pounds. Both are fully cooked. The hams are limited in quantity, so get your order in early. You can always place the order for the ham, and add on to your order up until 9 PM Wednesday night.
Lamb: several options. Of note: we just added grass-fed Colorado lamb shanks. If you've never had lamb shanks, think slow-and-low braised meat- might remind you of short ribs. We also have boneless tied lamb leg roasts. We also have Colorado lamb loin chops, and Australian lamb racks.
Suggested sides: we have a few we made for you, like our Rosemary, Garlic & Parmesan Polenta. We're also offering some sweet glazed plantains. We have some organic spring carrots coming from Norwich Meadow Farms in NY, Delta Queen Asparagus, and first of the season Fresh Georgia Peas and Baby Artichokes.
Swordfish steaks and Scituate sea scallops are looking good this week. Be sure to check out the Seasonal Produce section this week, as there are many new additions.
Something sweet: we'll be doing the flourless chocolate cake again, and are also doing a strawberry rhubarb pie.
See you soon,
Alison & Michael
