NJ Asparagus, Killer Peanut Sauce, Fresh Lo Mein Noodles, Chorizo Taco Kit
Dear Friends, Family & Neighbors,
This week, in the world of produce, we're especially into Holly Hill's bunched arugula, Siberian kale, and last of the season spinach. We are also excited for 1st of the season Jersey asparagus, local stinging nettles, fiddlehead ferns, and oyster mushrooms.
Grab some killer peanut sauce, some fresh lo mein noodles, and make yourself some spicy peanut noodles! So many things would be good on this- NJ asparagus, lightly charred sugar snap peas, chopped cucumbers, coconut & turmeric marinated chicken kabob, any/all topped with some sliced scallions and cilantro.
Or pan-roast some beautiful Nordic salmon fillet, and pair with our sesame-scallion brown rice, killer peanut sauce, and avocado salad kit. If you haven't had the Nordic salmon fillet, don't miss out- succulent, juicy, and the peanut sauce-brown rice combo is the bomb. Further suggested toppings: the crispy shallot furikake, and/or pickled red onions.
Smoking Goose's excellent fresh Mexican Chorizo, amazing just crisped up in the pan. Included: corn tortillas, chorizo, pineapple wedge, onion, bunched fresh local radishes, and cilantro. Just crumble and crisp chorizo in a pan, drain* and set aside. Lightly char the pineapple wedge in the pan, then dice. Dice onion, radishes, and cilantro and add to the pineapple. Serve with warm corn tortillas. *Pro-tip- save the chorizo drippings, and next time you make breakfast, fry up breakfast potatoes in the chorizo drippings to serve alongside scrambled eggs.
We brought back the chocolate-espresso cupcakes with swiss meringue buttercream, and we have blackberry muffins made with "sweetest batch" blackberries and a touch of lemon glaze.
Thanks and see you soon!
