Co-founder & Chef

Alison Hearn, co-founder and chef of Peggotty Provisions, prides herself on procuring and delivering the best ingredients in the culinary world to her clients. Her love for cooking, sourcing specialty food, and local community is poured into her weekly offerings.

Alison brings nearly two decades of experience from her time in the high-end restaurant and wholesale produce industry. As a professional chef in Boston for 13 years under top restaurateurs Barbara Lynch, Tony Maws, and Joanne Chang, Alison helped launch several beloved local restaurants, including B&G Oysters, Myers + Chang, and Steel & Rye.

In 2014, she took a position sourcing ingredients for the boutique wholesale produce company that she had previously relied on as a chef. This role allowed her to pursue her passion for sourcing the best ingredients from all over the world, which she continues through Peggotty Provisions. Through these connections, Alison brings rare, specialty, and hard-to-find items into your kitchen so you can create a fantastic meal in the comfort of your home.

A longtime Massachusetts resident, Alison now lives near Peggotty Beach in beautiful Scituate, MA with her wife and young son. When she’s not testing new recipes, curating weekly menus, or shopping for the best ingredients, Alison enjoys spending time at the beach with her family.

Co-founder and COO

Michael Bissanti, Co-founder and COO, joined forces with Alison to help execute her vision and grow Peggotty Provisions. As an experienced entrepreneur and consultant, he founded several beloved Boston restaurants, including The Paramount, Four Burgers, and The Blarney Stone.

Michael’s history of success in a challenging industry makes him a vital asset to Peggotty Provisions. He specializes in creating an atmosphere of true hospitality for guests, and has consulted many restaurants on how to build places customers genuinely love. The client experience at Peggotty is always at the forefront of Michael’s mind.

Michael lives in Sharon with his family, and often visits Thailand with his wife, who is from there and makes amazing, authentic Thai food.
